We offer solutions for various types of projects and multiple methods to destroy data. We provide solutions for magnetic tapes and SSD solid state disks.

In addition, we offer on-site hard drive destruction services. A truck equipped with a hard drive shredder provides this convenient service, which is very popular with large customers and data centers. Hard drive serial numbers are captured prior to destruction to facilitate final inventory reconciliation. This service eliminates all risk associated with transporting the material. As data media continues to advance and capacities become larger, the need to protect sensitive data becomes more important. The media that can be destroyed include the following:

Our facilities have controlled and monitored access, ensuring maximum protection of your data assets prior to destruction. All assets are stored and protected until processing begins. Security measures implemented in our facilities include physical barriers, intruder alarm systems, CCTV surveillance, limited access areas and keyed locks, strict visitor controls, secure storage, strategic lighting and alarmed peripheral exits.

Some situations require customers to physically witness the destruction of electronic media. E-Cycling can accommodate this in-person destruction by hosting the customer at our processing facility. Alternatively, visibility into the process can be facilitated by providing a webcam link to witness the destruction remotely. We can also provide a video recording of the customer's hard drives being destroyed. Our witnessed destruction is useful for our customers to verify the destruction of their media and, in some cases, the destruction of their hardware as part of our brand protection services.

Secure data destruction methods

Effective Secure Data Destruction must meet or exceed R2 certification standards. When data destruction services are performed in accordance with these standards, businesses can be confident that their information is securely destroyed and that disks are rendered unreadable, wiped (meaning the drives can be reused) or physically destroyed.

Hard drive destruction can also be carried out as part of a broader data destruction strategy. If there is a time lag between equipment pickup and the actual physical destruction of the equipment, an on-site hard drive shredder can be used as a security tactic to render the drives unusable in the meantime. This process protects the company and adds an additional layer of security and protection. We can also perform the service at our facility.

Once degaussed, the hard drive becomes unusable and cannot be sold, reused or donated. For most companies, hard drive degaussing is part of a comprehensive plan to remove recorded data, such as patient files, financial information or other sensitive or confidential material. Hard drive degaussing is a cost-effective solution for destroying small quantities of hard drives or multimedia tapes.
